In 2009, the traditional ETC summer academy will be part of the EDEN programme. EDEN, the European Doctorate Enhancement in Peace and Conflict Studies, aims to create a European network of expertise in Peace and Conflict Studies, to raise the level and quality of discussion, collaboration and coordination within the European academic community and to create and provide appropriate institutional infrastructure and consistent financial support for academic research.

Partners in the IP HUMSEC are the Catholic University of Leuven, Ruhr Universität, Institut für Friedenssicherungsrecht u. Humanitäres Völkerrecht, University of Limerick, University of Utrecht, University of Coimbra, Universidad de Deusto, University of Uppsala, University of Bradford, University of Derby, University of Kent, University of Ulster and Sabanci University.
