Manual "Understanding Human Rights"Welcome to the ETC-website dedicated to the manual "Understanding Human Rights"!
On the 10th of December in 2008, the international human rights day, the second, extended and updated edition of the manual “Understanding Human Rights” was published. Since January 2009, at the beginning of the international year of learning about human rights, the first copies were delivered to grammar schools and respectively they are available at the ETC Graz and in book stores. The manual can be ordered online at the new scientific publisher at http://www.nwv.at/doc/produkte. The copies that were purchased by the BMUKK for teachers and the copies that were forwarded via the centre polis - Politik in der Schule for free are regrettably out of stock already (since the beginning of March)! In contrast to the first German edition we are able to provide the manual for download without any restriction. For the free download you either find the complete text (6 MB) as a pdf-file or single modules. Besides German, there are eleven other language versions available online. This site offers direct access to the online training material based on the English version of the manual "Understanding Human Rights", up-dated in accordance with the second edition published in May 2006. Under "Training Material" you will therefore find power-point-presentations on all modules for the manual, and subsequently also additional training acitivities and news. For those of you searching for either the full text or any of the numerous language versions of the manual, the button "Language Versions" will provide access to the different electronic versions of the manual. We hope that we are able to give you new input for human rights teaching and learning and are looking forward to your feedback under manual@etc-graz.at.
Sincerely, the ETC-Team
